Railroad Museum!
The Colorado
Railroad Museum was opened in 1959 as a non-profit
organization. The museum is located at 17155 West
44th
Avenue, Golden,
Colorado. Normal operating hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is
closed for major holidays. Adult tickets cost $8. Children
age 2 are admitted free. Ticket admission for kids is $5.
The Colorado Railroad Museum has almost one hundred pieces
of locomotives and rail cars on display around the fifteen
acres of grounds. Picnic areas are available for a family
meal and a birthday party caboose can be rented. The museum
consists of the souvenir shop-museum, the restoration
roundhouse, and the library archives. The Robert Richardson
Railroad Library was opened in 1997. The Colorado Railroad
Museum is situated approximately twelve miles west of
downtown Denver.
